Though BBC South regional TV editors refuse to acknowledge the fact, a large number of people in this area receive their transmissions from Midhurst because local topography (the Greensand Ridge) completely blocks the line of sight to the Reigate relay. Until switchover all was fine. We received all digital channels loud and clear from Midhurst - BBC South, Meridian etc. After switchover, nothing. Have done several factory re-sets and re-tunes and can only pick up a handful of minority channels (we get Play, something called Gay Rabbit, Film 4 and a couple of shopping channels). We've swung the aerial round to the north to see if an increased power from Reigate will help it bend round hills, but nothing from there either. So now we have no TV where previously we had loads. We can only watch TV through Sky satellite, meaning just one TV in the home. Could someone explain what on earth they have done to mess things up so spectacularly, and is there anything we can do to fix it?
Thanks.

Thanks Dave.
Our postcode always predicts health coverage from the Reigate relay but the postcode predictor doesn't take account of topography.
In any case, I've just discovered what the problem is. I have a Philips 28DW6557, which I see is not compatible with 8k digital format. The other TV is working off a similar vintage box. So that explains it. New telly's all round.

I live in Reigate. Like much of Reigate, we get our transmissions from Midhurst, because the Reigate and Crystal Palace transmissions are blocked by the confused local topography. Given our height, the reception is generally fine, at least on the main channels, although annoyingly both BBC and ITV regional bulletins completely ignore anything happening north of Crawley. However, in the last 48 hrs the TV has started to pixelate on all channels. This hasn't happened before. Any ideas?
