So I decided to check the other end, tightened the single cable connection and voila all channels have now returned.
Thanks all for your assistance

Strange thing is BBC1 was there this morning, wondering if it is weather/transmitter related

Well having done nothing today everything is working perfectly, so must be weather and/or transmitter related, radio reception was rubbish yesterday. Really annoying only having some channels on certain days.

The other really annoying thing about freesat, on my freeview box (humax). When I press back on the remote it takes me back to the previous channel I was watching, but freesat doesn't, why?

I have 2 foxsat boxes 1 records the other does not. the one that does is fine, the other has been losing channels recently. whilst trying to retune it fails to find the postcode even though it is already in there. it did eventually do a retune but some channels were coming up scrambled or unavailable including BBC1
I gave in and did a factory reset and now it fails to find a signal at all. the other box is fine help!
