Briantist: Ah,apologies.Isn't it funny how we sometimes see what we want to see.I will take more notice next time. It's just that I get a little excited at HD. I know it may not be everyone's cup of tea but in this modern day of tech , I think this should now be the norm for everybody , but I suppose it's down to greedy TV broadcasters.

Hi all.....Is there anybody else apart from myself living in Swindon that are not receiving the following channels - Movies 4men and True entertainment. Apparently they're available on freeview according to the channel line up. My aerial is pointing East and the built in freeview (TV) says Oxon & Bucks.Do I need to move my aerial?. Can anyone advise?.

Hi All .
I am getting my freeview from the Oxford transmitter through a Humax box and a booster plugged to the mains. When i check the signal strength for HD channels it says 47% - 50% but with the booster unplugged its around 26% - 29%. The signal quality always says 100%. Do I need a bigger aerial to get my signal strength above the 50% mark or is this the norm. Can anyone advise on this predicament please. My post code is SN3 2PZ ( Swindon,Wilts ).
Cheers guys.
Ade Langford.

Channel break up is intermittent and across
all HD and some SD. I have also had a 4g filter
fitted which works to a degree. I just wanted to
know if I could increase the signal strength to
over 50%.

Hi Mike P . Many thanks for the reply .
Forgive my ignorance but I was under the
impression that the Swindon area were
Using wideband aerials . Are they dependant
on how many fins are on the aerial has to pick
up the signals ?.

Hi Steve P,many thanks for your reply. The reason for a second aerial was to feed the bedroom as the first serves the main tv in the lounge.I'm currently on VM but about to made redundant in the next 5 months so have to make cut backs.
