Below are all of Matt Clarke's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Crystal Palace is terrible with all the hills. Midhurst is OK with MUX D being a bit intermittent. As for Guildford, even though I can almost see it, I found that lifting my aerial (UNIX 100) by five feet up made the difference between Mux 1 perfect, the rest none to all being perfect.

I don't really need the UNIX 100, I just got it cheap (£17). I also have a dat 75 on Midhurst, even though a log works fine. The DAT 75 is on a rotor, so I can DX.

According to the UKFreeterrain maps, I have a better line of sight to heathfield than crystal palace and Hannington. I get perfect analogue from Hannington with a 18 element unamplified contract aerial. To get crystal Palace I need a UNIX 100A on a 20ft guyed mast with a mast head amp just to get a signal.

You do not need a wideband aerial, just a group K which will have a lot more gain. Look at aerialsandtv.com gain charts and data.

How? Look halfway down Aerials, TV Aerial and Digital Aerial in "graph of typical gain curves for.....". The group K aerial has the most gain around channel 49 (arqmuxB), even though they are only intended for (21-48). Or you could Use a group B. (SN84ND)

Or it could be restricted radiation patterns, but if it worked before, it should now. Thus I think Brianist's advice is the best.

Based on previous posts, Guildford is actually a comparatively powerful relay. You get ones like dorking that pump out some 7w.

Since both fall within group E you can't combine them. Brianist- you do an amazing job of a hard task.

Heathfield does not radiate to the west.
