Below are all of Stuart Harris's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Just a hint for everyone, have been receiving freeview from Brierley Hill for three years. Never really had any problems apart from poor reception on Mux 1 (Ch68). Always assumed this was because the channel was at the very end of the band!
However had my aerial and associated cabling renewed a few weeks ago! What a change, 100% signal strength and quality on all channels!
Therefore my advice, always get your aerial and cables checked if you are regularly suffering from poor reception. Brierley Hill hasn't got the best power output, but with a good quality aerial and cables, it can easily be received!

Came past the transmitter today and there appeared to be a guide rope attached to the top of the transmitter! Although i came past later and there appeared to be no evidence of any work taking place!!

Sutton Coldfield (Birmingham, England) Full Freeview transmitteSunday 25 September 2011 9:26AM

Hi, recently i have been retuning boxes for friends who are not technically minded, or who are elderly! have noticed the following from Sutton Coldfield!
Com 1 & 2 always show excellent signal strength & quality, however Com 4, 5 & 6 show anything from good to poor sihnal strength & quality!
As they are all broadcasting at 200,000W is there any reason for this?

Having trouble with reception from Brierley Hill today.
Have lost all channels on CH 57 (PSB 2) although all other tv channels are fine.
On all other multiplexes, it says that signal strength is excellent, but on this one there is none?
Have tried the reset procedure, no difference. Any ideas?

Would there be any reason why the signal on PSB1 & COM 1 would suddenly have dropped of late.
I have a box that measures strength & quality of the signal, and up until recently the strength would be 70+% and signal quality would be 90%, just recently though the strength is now 50 - 60% and quality 70 - 80%, although sometimes the quality will dip significantly.
All the other multiplexes are fine and are what they used to be, has this anything to do with 4G as its the multiplexes that are at the top of the band that are suffering?

Anyone know whats happened to the local MUX, no service since yesterday?
According to Digital Spy, other people are having problems to?

I notice that Brierley Hill is not on the list even though all MUXs are in the ch50 to 60 range??

Hi, do we know when the new channel numbers for the MUX will be made known, because obviously I am going to need a new aerial as I currently have a C/D aerial.
Thanks

If Sutton Coldfield is off air, will it affect relay stations ie: Brierley Hill
