Below are all of nicholas's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.To people with indifferent or poor dab reception, have a look around yr neighbourhood and see if there are
any old band 3 tv aerials, call at the house and ask if you can buy the aerial, etc, clean it up with NEW coaxial, espically in scotland the double 6 or double 8's should work a treat,it such a shame that band 3
isnt still used in uk,it was the best band for tv.

Hi,in respect of uk local tv stations,i don't think the uk audience was really interested,as long as the
network services were available,it possibly the mindset as local stations weren't there at the start,so unlike
radio,little interest.

Dear Pam,this is probaly due to fading where the signal field outside the primary service area, the secondary
and shallow fringe areas are affected by random cancellation of the signal level ,in VHF days fading
was a chronic problem from the wenvoe trnasmitter on ch5.Basically as the signal hits physical objects,it
will either cause a cancellation or doubling of the signal field, hence you have fading. The UHF band is
one of the worst frequency bands for tv.

Hi.nick, try inverting the aerial upwards as sometimes the signals suffer from being twisted and the signal
moves between the horizontal and vertical ,try an aerial at ground level

All this nonsence is typical of the way these conferences are made, all was required was to keep band3 vhf
for televsion, perfect band for tv,kicked the military off channels 14-20 and all would be well in the garden.
people don't really don't want dab,the fm service is perfection .But the muppets have got it everywhere, destroying things.

Hi,the amount of trailers on some of the channels has got to overload proportions and spoils the viewing,as
well as some of the special effects which breaks up or distorts the pictures.

To all concerned, sometimes it has been found that the strongest signals from any transmitter have been
found at ground level espically hilly areas or places below the radio horizon,if you can't get steady reception
on the roof, try searching around,it has worked.Radio waves are so unpredicable, they do the strangest things
at times.
