Below are all of Mike Davison's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Only a guess, but could be the first hint of BBC1 HD becoming regionalised on the terrestrial platform
so if you can't receive HD channels on Freeview. you need a new Freeview box, PVR or TV.
It was said that the upgrading would be before April.

StevensOnln1: I did say 'if'. There could be some people like me who have a non DVB-T2 PVR
which has never been replaced(mine is kept for some of its old content and nothing else) and
it is their only programme recording means. I have had a DVB-T2 PVR since digital switch-over.
There is hopefully a start to the trend of replacing the original DVB specs. by S2 and T2 services.
Given how long 405 lasted after 625 duplication, there could be some time to wait.

StevensOnln1: I never said they would lose anything but now they have a reason to upgrade.

Henry Porcher: Size for size, log periodic antennas have less gain than Yagi antennas. Your situation
seems particularly difficult and really only a local installer may have a solution or a way to alleviate
the problem. The only off-the-wall suggestion I can make is to get the highest gain and tightest
receive aperture Yagi and try and find a reflection from a not too distant building not looking over the
main road or directly from your second choice transmitter at your postcode if that avoids the road.
Using satellite reception should completely solve the problem of course.

Martin Dawson: Although Wrotham is roughly half as far away again from this postcode, its transmission power is significantly greater than Crystal Palace's FM radio services but local geography will probably cause you to make the final decision and checking on Google Earth suggests Wrotham is hardly obstructed.

Are you sure the SCART output is still 'HD'? When I used the SCART output of my Pace HD satellite
receiver to record an HD signal on my standard definition Hard drive recorder, it was recorded as a
downscaled service.
