If signal strength was excessive I would expect a problem in good weather not when there is probable attenuation of signal because of rain.
Why does my indoor aerial appear to be unaffected by the rain?

Following the latest frequency changes for freeview, Winter Hill transmitter, I have signal breakup, only on BBC chanels, when it rains heavily.
I am only 15 miles from the transmitter with an unobstructed line of sight.
I have had a new aerial fitted but the problem has not been resolved. When I use a small indoor amplified aerial the problem disappears.
Is the outdoor aerial too low a gain or perhaps not enough bandwidth?
