Hi Edward!
While I live in North Belfast and I get most of my channels from Divis which I would say it is about 40+ miles from your location in a different direction, I haven't found any problem with signal strength or quality. It would appear that Arqiva are currently undertaking some work on the transmitter but this work appears to effect Radio Services only. The info provided by the BBC indicates that while there is still transmission of all radio channels - some are at a weaker strength than normal.

PJH It is puzzling how you are querying a post of five to six months ago!
From the inception of digital from the Clermont Carn transmitter RTE One was in standard definition, RTE Two was in high definition and TG4, RTE News Now was in standard definition. Earlier this year when 2rn (the transmission arm of RTE) brought on the second multiplex on UHF Channel 56 RTE One became available in high definition and in recent months RTE One in standard definition has been removed (from what I can see on my main receiver) although RTE One + 1 is still being broadcasted in standard definition. Without checking now I think RTE Jr. is still in standard definition. 2rn also transmit TV3 and 3e but I am unaware of any plans to only have their programming only available in high definition.

Gregory - I would take it that you get your Saorview signals from the Holywell Hill transmitter but I may be wrong. If it is Holywell Hill have a look at this page on this site. Holywell Hill Saorview transmitter | ukfree.tv - 12 years of independent, free digital TV advice

Hi Aiden! If I am right and if you live in the Republic of Ireland you viewing Television - you are governed by the Irish Government's ' Television Licences Regulations 2007'. Again, as MikeP has indicated - If you want to watch or record any TV service while it is being broadcast you must have a TV licence in the country where the viewer is viewing these programmes. Hi all!

Pauric!
As Richard has said try Brougher Mountain - it is much closer to you than Divis and Brougher is a main transmitter just like Divis.
