Hi David!
If you let me know the make and model number of your TV set I could check it out to see if it has the right kind of tuner in it for High Definition stations. While you may be right saying that you set is full HD - lots of retailers mislaid customers about full HD and in some cases the set is not technically able to recode the signals for High Definition stations.

COM 6 multiplex is on UHF Channel 29 from Divis at 50,000 watts where as LBT multiplex is on UHF Channel 30 at 5,000 watts but I would be very surprised if it is interference from COM 6 multiplex. The test signal with me in North Belfast on EPG 791 and 792 seem to be fine here.

Hannah! Your location is Annalong from your postcode. I take it that you get your Freeview TV signal from the Kilkeel transmitter. If this is correct there doesn't appear to be any problems at this transmitter. The transmitter is a Freeview Light Transmitter which will only carry fewer channels than Divis. If you know about UHF channels the Kilkeel Transmitter uses three UHF Channels to supply 40 stations on UHF channels: 39, 42 and 45. I live quite close-by your address and can I start by asking you for the make and model of the TV you bought. This will tell me what stations you will be able to receive.
It depends on the type of tuner in the set so that is why I ask the question. Your area is served by the Divis Digital Freeview transmitter but depending on the make and model of your set you may be able to also receive the 3 RTE/TG4 stations transmitted from Black Mountain (NI Mini Multiplex).

Hi James Vance and jb!
James - jb has answered the question regarding the make and model of your set. jb has done the research I would have done to establish the type of tuner in your set. From jb's answer you will see that you will not be able to receive the 3 RTE/TG4 stations transmitted from Black Mountain.
In my first reply to you I included a link to the Digital UK site which included the information regarding the transmitters that you may be able to receive your TV programmes from:

I know the link's address is quite long but if you type it into your internet browser you will be able to see the aerial group you will need. For Divis it lists a Group A aerial and for Carnmoney it lists a Group B aerial.
Just one other thing - this TV set will not tune in the High Definition stations from Freeview although it may be a high definition set it doesn't have a high definition tuner built into the set.

James - I should have said that an aerial for Divis reception is set horizontally while for reception from Carnmoney the aerial is set vertically. That is the elements of the aerial are set horizontally (Divis) and vertically for Carnmoney.

What is happening to com8 UHF Channel 34 - detailed above. I see that it has a HD icon against this listing and due on-air December 2013. Is there reasons why this channel is not on-air at this time and which channels will use this multiplex?

Hi all!
I see that my Thursday 5 December 2013 12:41AM comments created a lot of discussion. While I am not fully competent in all of the workings of today's terrestrial television transmission I read an article about a year ago which indicated that there was a new signal coding system being developed and this system compressed the signal more than today's system. This would allow a greater number of signals to be transmitted on one UHF channel.
If this is the case - this would free up more of the spectrum for other uses.
Can anyone confirm this for me!
I know that TV equipment manufacturers would like for everyone to go out and purchase equipment equipped with a DVB-T2 tuner but most households don't have the finances available in these days of reducing household incomes.
