Sandy Heath (Central Bedfordshire, England) Full Freeview transMonday 2 November 2015 6:29PM
Downham Market
Postcode is PE38 0QE. All of our TV's and set top boxes say "Cambridge and Bedorshire" when tuning in. We haven't had a problem in over a year and a half since we had an expert fit a new ariel on the roof for us. Everything was working perfect. However, from the 31st October 2015, we have been loosing signal. Today, 2cnd November has been the worst so far, as we temporarily lose ALL stations. One minute all stations are gone, the next only some are gone or are patchy. Tonight i've been trying to watch BBC1HD, ITV2 and True Christmas. BBC1HD and ITV2 are patchy and have spells where they go down totally. Then True Christmas has totally gone down. When i check the UHF21 signal quality, it is either no signal or signal quality at all, totally nothing. Or it fluctuates from good to bad. I've tried factory resets, new cables, everything. Since typing out this email we have discovered that the living room TV seems to be fine, but the downstairs and upstairs TV's are the one's having the problem. They are all connected direct ariel.

Hi Mike. Thanks for the reply.
All TV's have gone down now, even the one in the living room. No signal at all for ages, then patchy, then back to no signal. So i highly doubt it is a fault at my end. It looks like other people in the area are experiencing the exact same issues. Checked signal strength on all 4 TV's and 2 set top boxes. They all show no signal and then fluctuate from good to bad. We "think" our aerial is pointed to Sandy Heath.

I find it hard to believe that everyone has all of a sudden developed problems with their system and cables. Unless Gremlins have been messing about with all our cables! =O
Been up in the loft and all looks fine. Checked all our TV's etc. For us BBC1 is on channel 1. BBC1HD is on 101. Channel 27 here is ITV2 +1.

Thanks for the reply, JB38.
Then in that case this new digital system is flawed. The TV is totally unwatchable in these weather conditions. Back when it was analoge you could at least watch TV, even with a bad picture.

It did, Mike? I'm in my 30's. Growing up i can remember either having a good picture, a weak but watchable picture, and even sometimes 2 channels ghosting into one another. But it was always watchable regardless. Even with a wire coat hanger jammed into the back of the TV as an aerial. lol Everyone here seems to say the same as me.
Neighbours are having the same problem btw. We both just did another re-tune and lost loads of stations. The ones that remain are patchy.
We never had this fannying around with analouge did we. No having to constantly check connections, climbing up in the loft, having to come online to find out what the problem is etc etc etc. Back in the days of analouge if the picture was a tad crap you would simply twiddle the aerial on the back of the TV until you got a watchable picture. Happy days! =)

Our stations came back early hours this morning. I did a retune of the 2 main tv's and 2 set top boxes. 2 of the TV's and 1 of the set top boxes picked up every single station going. I think all from the same transmitter? BBC1 is on channel 1, BBC1HD is 101. TV's all say Cambridge and Bedordshire as the area. Arieal pointed to Sandy Heath. But oddly, the second set top box only picked up some stations and was missing BBC1 and BBC1 HD altogether. So i did a second retune of that box and it now has all stations the same as rest. Odd!

In Hilgay near Downmham market (postcode PE38) stations have been pixelating all week, then tonight ALL stations are completely down for hours at a time. It's now 1am and they have been down since 8pm.
It has to be a transmitter problem as we had our Ariel fitted by a pro late last year, it's brand new and been working fine until this week. We haven't had any strong winds are anything.
That at800 isn't testing 4G signals near us either, or at least if they are we don't know about it and haven't been updated or informed.
