Surprised to see that none of the Antivax mob have been on to say that this is clearly a transponder being rented by Bill Gates to control all of the microchips that he intends to implant in people. It's not Bill, of course. It's the Russians. Everything will be fine for as long as the patterns is still being transmitted - if it stops, head for the nearest bunker. :)

If there are any free live streams of Sky, RUK or the bookies coverage they cannot be discussed here as they will be pirated streams. The only live horse racing stream you'll get legally is via the ITV Hub when it's on ITV or ITV4.

In the last day or so on this channel I've seen idents and slates with "Showcase TV", and "Sky channel 192" on them.

Les: You could use iPlayer, BBC Scotland is available to all postcodes. In iPlayer to see BBC1 Scotland (if you're not in Scotland) you'd need to fool it by telling it you are. On a PC that's done in My Programmes then Change Location towards the bottom of the page.
The channels (and BBC Wales, NI and all of the English regions) are also available on Freesat across the UK. On Freeview/Youview you'd have to use the iPlayer app and do the location trick.

If it does happen would the BBC add them as internet streaming channels? I can't remember what the term for the method is, but what I mean is when the punter chooses a channel the box drags in an internet stream rather than switching to an OTA channel.

You might be aware although you don't say it in the post, but this is related to the recent fire at Bilsdale. The Tyne Tees terrestrial mux is being broadcast on satellite so that Bilsdale's relays can be fed with the correct ITV local news and the accessible guide.
Yesterday Arqiva said that it will be up to another 14 days before a temporary service can be run from an 80m mast near the fire damaged 315m one. One problem they have is that the Bilsdale Moor is a SSSI, so they can't go digging holes and pouring concrete for the temporary anchor points.

Each time Mark A typed "Freeserve", you should read "Freeview".

No, Channels 24 is not available on Freesat or Freeview. The closest you'll get on Freesat is Yanga!, while there is no comparable channel on Freeview.
