I have to say that after this re-tune of PSB2 at M-Y-Parc,some of my customers have now lost ITV Wales/S4C in favoured areas around South-east Shropshire,which is extreamly disapointing!As MYP is co-channel with Sutton Coldfield.
It is a shame that MYP cannot use Channels 48,51,52, for it's PSB's and give viewers more choice.
I would imagine that there must be issues,in certain areas in between Sutton and MYP's service areas because of co-channel interference.

Tf the Wrekin Transmitter really does take the last position of 20,that would actually be a little ironic.
Because at the time of the official on air date
of 22/12/1975,only Main transmitters, Fremont Point,Torosay*,Eitshal and Brougher Mountain were not on air at that time.The Wrekin was 45th of 49 main transmitters according to the IBA to came on air,on UHF.
I do remember that it was difficult for the BBC to obtain planning permission for this site. Fortunately,before,Shropshire was quite well served by either Sutton Coldfield or in places by Winter Hill on UHF,only the county town of
Shrewsbury suffered from very marginal/poor TV reception.
The Wrekin is an excellent site with reception stretching into Cheshire and north-east Wales,across the West Mids,and south of Worcester in places.
But we always say locally that Wrekin is a gloryfied relay of Sutton Coldfield.
*Torosay,upgraded as a relay of Black Hill.

Up until recently i was receiving a reasonable FM signal of 106.9 Silk FM,even in South east Shropshire.
However since the increase in power of the Manchester DAB Multiplex at the Sutton Common site,the FM signal is almost non-existent!
I wonder if this is a deliberate measure,as the
signal seemed very robust over a larger area,for a mixed polarized 150 watt transmitter.Be interested in any similar stories?

It seems there is no longer any HP transmitted signal component,at Silk FM 106.9Mhz.Presumably this was done to reduce interference to Real Radio Wales,transmitting from Moel Y Parc,on the same frequency.
One would guess this work was carried out at the same time The Local Multiplex power was increased for DAB,from Sutton Common.

According to 'Radio Today'dated 30/11/12,there has been a power increase at Sutton Common for Silk FM 106.9.Both horizontal/vertical powers have been increased to 200 watts.
Before the change,i was able to receive this radio station with a good 3 element VHF/FM aerial,positioned horizontally and mast-head amplifier.This resulted in reasonable stereo sound and RDS 'pick up',however,now the signal is almost non-existent!
I'm guessing that most of the power increase is sent north to South Manchester where there is a larger potential listenership.

Briantist,in your first piece,you had ' The Wrekin ' within the top 20 of transmitters per populations,this is absent from this latest list.
Can you confirm this?please can you give more reasons?why The Wrekin should not be included.

If the Wrekin is not on the list now,i suppose it will generate extra work for me,in time.
As customers may ask to have their roof aerials re-directed to Sutton Coldfield from The Wrekin to receive all the new HD channels.Which can only be positive for me and my business.

This must be the most 'protracted' launch of a ny service whether it be TV or Radio.
When is Muxco eventually launch the East Wales/West Cheshire DAB multiplex?
The transmitters are now equipped with Transmitting Antennae's.
What are we waiting for?I'm beginning to believe it may never happen!!.lol.

In the West Mids,The Wrekin,Bromgrove,Lark Stoke,all operate as S F N,as yet i have not heard of any issues.
The obvious advantage of this means other frequencies are free'd up
