Peter Henderson: You are correct about the NIMM coverage. I posted the Ofcom coverage map earlier. Also just input postcodes for Downpatrick, Strangford, Newcastle etc. The DVB-T2 station at Black Mountain is designed to plug the Saorview coverage holes, beautifully illustrated in the OFFICIAL Ofcom coverage maps based on the UK computer prediction models.

Briantist: Top man! I suspect the indoor coverage of the NIMM is going to be rather good on the 24th , with the special T2 mode, having a much lower C/N than HDTV T2 or T1. We will see very soon.

The coverage is now outstanding in the Republic from Divis and Kilkeel, all the wayto Dublin and indeed Wicklow! See boards.ie. Its also excellent on the IOM and in SW Scotland, Argyll and parts of NW North Wales.
If you have a Freeview HD TV you are in business on the 24th as the Divis HDTV frequency is also 100kW.

The NIMM T2 minimux from Black Mountain will behave like a 50kW DVB-T1 mux because it has a much lower C/N decode threshold. It is NOT the same as the standard T2 mode used for UK HDTV which has a C/N ~ 20dB, same as post-DSO DVB-T1 mode used in the UK. This is why the coverage is going to be so superior and indoor antenna reception in the Greater Belfast area will be excellent. IIRC the C/N for this T2 mode is around 9dB.

simultaneously if you have access to all of these formats, the ONLY choice is Freeview HD equipment. As recommended by DUK.

Stuart Owens: They already can in Wales. In Scotland they will get NIMM coverage and Clermont Carn coverage which are powering up on the 24th, and Mount Leinster is changing channels and powering up as well...
