Below are all of dennis starr's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.I can now answer my own question of 1st Dec.
BBC iPlayer can only be received on Freesat
if your box has a telephone socket to
enable access from you to the BBC.(As well
as the usual sockets for Dish feed and Scart
out.).

Having bought a Panasonis TV with 3D and
glasses I have yet to find a programme
transmitted in 3D!.Never mentioned in TV schedules.Seems like I will have to buy
a Blue Ray player if I want 3D.Is that right?

john alexander....From the current bt broadband adverts,it seems as if BT Sports
is free for 12 months with their broadband, and if so you should be able to
watch it on your PC,but has to be paid for
on Sky via a card upgrade.I am not an
authority on this,so like you I will hope
to see a more definitive response.

Congratulations to KMJ,Derby. He hit the nail
right on the head.Absolute joy to read such
a well formulated response.

Further to the new BT sports channel,I note
that 2 Freeview channels have appeared under
that name.Presumably they will be scrambled
when they go live, and a viewing card or
attached phone line would then be needed to
enable the display.Or am I missing something?

The above comments all seem to assume that Analogue Radio on VHF/FM is doomed.
Hence widespread concern at the possible
loss of this popular platform. The words
Analogue Radio also embrace LW & MW,
and if it is just that that is under threat there
may not be so many fears especially if
those channels were re-located to a better
quality platform.
The argument that VHF/FM cannot accomodate extra channels may not be
relevent when more and more channels
are available on satellite and freeview
and Smart TVs (off line) )and there is plenty
of bandwidth there for those LW/MW
analogue channels.

Question.....My Panasonic Smart TV (TX-L37ET5B) has lots of Inputs but does not
appear to have any Outputs. That is disappointing,as I often wish to record off-line
signals that I am enjoying on screen.Any ideas.please?

Your comments do not solve my problem, but thanks for trying to help.I can record
off-air programmes with external tuners as you suggest, but with Smart tv signals
off my broadband I can see them on the tv but cannot record them e.g BBC iPlayer,
Eurosport (for which I subscribe):and various other apps which are only
available to me.through my tv.

A newspaper report today (01/02/13)says that
BT are to launch a Sports Channel in the
Summer,with Premier League football,Rugby,and
800 hours of WTA tennis. If these are exclusive
rights, there will be many disappointed fans
who have taken out contracts with other
providers for these particular sports.Does
anyone have more details on this, please?
