After a day of retuning quite a number of TVs I noticed the following on EPGs
TVs with Freeview HD put the NIMM RTE from black mountain at 51 52 and 53.
Those with aerials for Claremont Cairn RTE, they appear between 800 to 807.
The four Northern Hd channels appear high up the channel list as well so do check your full EPG or channel guide.
From checking the Claremont Cairn signal today a mast amp is still required at least in the Antrim area.

I came across an I Can box whilst retuning on wedensday. I was asked to look at it as it did not pick up RTE.
I tried to tune it for the person who bought it but it would not even let me into the menu.
I think they may need a software update.

Kevin have you got a mast amplifier for the RTE aerial? General rule I have found if you were getting a good analogue signal from the South before DSO all should be ok if it was fuzzy then not so good.
Another route you could go would be saorsat which would mean a dish and freesat HD box this would get you all Irish channels apart from TV3.

Just another one I have found since DSO a lot of people have their sky channel set on 40 for feeding around the house this directly effects the NIMM which is now transmitted on 39 hence you will need to change the rf channel of the sky box to 45 in Divis area.

Peter have you any signal quality or strength readings on the ones you are getting??

Another thought occurred if the aerial has been up for quite a while it may be an older Group A type for Divis which cuts off at channel 37.
As channel 39 falls into the Group K band which covers channels 21 - 48.

Peter: I am an installer it is my customers I speak for when I have to explain why they are not getting channels. 23 and 33 are in my opinion a disgrace at the minute. The quality is poor on my insruments but the signal can be booming in so a 16db increase in October does not give me any confidence at all. I have freesat HD on my main room but it does not show the Quest channel etc.
The good news for Freesat users is that they are adding 24 HD live feeds for the Olympics!
Which you will not get off a transmitter that cant even cope with Freeview Mpeg2. Perhaps this is one for Ofcom?
