Below are all of bRIAN RAWLINSON's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Yes, without doubt - give me back the radio stations ASAP. BBC ALBA is interesting - sometimes - but I am lucky and can see mountains and lochs from my window, and fiddles and accordions are an acquired, or inherited taste.

PHILIPS DVD Player / Recorder / SET TOP BOX (DVDR5500)ANALOGUE / DIGITAL.
Prior to switchover I had both analogue and digital reception. Now after switchover I have to retune every time I power up. It loses all channels on power down. Most annoying as otherwise it works fine with tendency to drop or switch channels. I contacted Philips support but all they could suggest was a complete 'factory' reset which I have done many times already. I send this in the hope that someone somewhere has had something similar. I wonder if the fact that it still has the analog capability has an effect. At boot up I get the message 'no signal' which would be true if it is looking for analog channels first. An analog scan produces nothing naturally as we went digital in May 2011.

Chris: Yes, I have two digiboxes on one ariel. one fed from the 'TV out' socket of the other DB. I find that one DB first in the chain gives a better result (less pixilation) than the other way round. In my case a philips DVD/DIgibox and a Labgear DB. It is the Labgear DB which prone to break up and pixielation if it is first.

May I add my support to keeping this service. I would miss it greatly, as I would the BBC Radio 4 if it was to go.

Greenock
Help! my Post Code is pa16 7py, Greenock opposite Rosneath Transmitter. My wife has this notion to watch STV Glasgow but unfortunately it is not available to us. I believe people on the Blackhill Transmitter can. Is it possible to manually retune channel 25, is so what is the frequency? I have looked but no can find.
Cheers, Brian Rawlinson

I am on the rosneath transmitter. reception is OK all channels except BBC. i have a sagem set top box . after a few minutes of watching TV the set switches channels to another BBC channel often the previous one watched though i suspect it May be a random process.
also i have a philips dvd recorder and set top box combined which loses all channels on power-off. philips can offer no solution.
