Below are all of Robert McMillan 's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.My guess would be that there's some truth in those claims of BBC presenters getting into trouble over their tax affairs by agreeing to be part of the BBC's 'you're not employed by us but don't be late for work tomorrow' double standards nonsense.

Wwaaaayyyy too much coverage of the Queen's death.
Can't even get a weather forecast any given day and scheduled programming is getting canceled often with no notice. After countless hours of coverage during the day do channel bosses really need to pull programmes at night off as well? Disgrace.

Subsidies are the mid term future for every business by the looks of it. Well I say mid term because there won't be a long term future for that business model when the money runs out and the system collapses.

So the BBC would consider adopting an advertising or subscription business model in the future but not now when it could make all the difference to a lot of people now? Scumbags.

The start of your post : "If the BBC took advertising it would destroy the commercial broadcasting market taking lots of smaller broadcasters out of business and even risking ITV loosing much of it's advertising income". Er, No. The BBC are the main force behind UKTV Freeview channels such as Drama, Dave, Yesterday etc. They've been taking advertising income for years while telling the public that they need to be funded through the TV licence fee.
The BBC should be disbanded.
