Scott: If other people are fine, I cannot see how it could be a problem at transmitter - unless of course the others are using satellite or cable. Have you tried a full (factory) reset? The instructions will tell you how to do this.

Scott: I was doing a manual rescan (which I prefer as it avoids picking up multiple transmitters) and got nothing on channel 40. It turns out on my equipment you need to change the setting from DVB-T to DVB-T2 to receive these channels.

Scott: This particular equipment is a Humax HDR-FOX T2 PVR. I also have a Sony TV and 'heritage' Thomson decoder box in my kitchen. They all work differently.

It sounds to me (excuse the pun) that either your decoder box or your TV is faulty. I would first try the decoder with a different TV then the TV with a different decoder box. I assume you could borrow equipment from friends to do this.

I see Black Hill (aka Blackhill) is to use channels 32 and 35. As you say channel 32 is 'out of group'. I understand the Group B covers 35-53. Assuming good reception at present, is reception of channel 32 likely to be reasonable without changing aerial? Indeed, would a wideband aerial (which is a compromise) provide any better reception of channel 32 than a Group B aerial?

What will happen next time round? Will each franchise be offered separately or will they be offered as a 'job lot' that ITV plc can bid for? Is there a possibility that ITV might bid for Scotland?

Is there any way of knowing which of the new HD multiplexex will contain the BBC channels, com7 or com8? I am a bit concerned that my Group B aerial will struggle if it's channel 32.

I had my existing Group E aerial replaced with a Group B aerial this afternoon. This ws to serve two television sets (one previously with its own aerial pointing at the Glasgow West Central relay). Now I have the full range of services in the kitchen.
I assume I am now less likely to suffer 4G interference as the Group B aerial is
supposed to drop off at channel 53, well below the 4G frequencies.
The aerial man was a bit sceptical about feeding both sets from one aerial and said I might need a mast-head amplifier. I pointed out that one set worked on HD without
difficulty before the switchover. I suggested that, with a big increase in signal strength, the gain would surely exceed the loss from the splitting. He said I was an optimist but 'correct in theory'. The meter reading was okay. Both TVs are working.
