Below are all of Algernon's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Clever ideas however, all the existing Overhead (British Rail) lines south of London are 3 rail systems and the "Underground" runs on a 4 rail system. Also platforms
will be of different heights on BR lines compared to TFL (LT) lines.
The current line extensions have been undertaken by use of full size trains and coaches and that will be the drawback in future. The ONLY full size railway in central London is Cross Rail.

Why is the Freeview EPG so appalling in that it takes ages to display programme details after switch on and even after a couple of hours viewing there are still
"No information" tags displayed?
My Freeview tuner is built in to the TV set.
Algy.

Just noticed that we now have some programmes on the "That's Oxford" channel.
Hardly worth waiting for, very amateur and seemingly only covers music talk.
The right hand side of the screen shows mainly out of date information.
I doubt it will last long!

How very strange! I don't watch Freeview as I got fed up with the reception problems so I changed to Freesat but last week I bought a new TV. Tuning the set brought me all the channels from Oxford, London and Hannington. My aerial is 752 feet above sea level pointing at Oxford. My post code is GL54 4EB.
I wonder what has changed, transmitter output or my new TV.
Funny old World.
Algy.
