Below are all of Big Dave's postings, with the most recent are at the bottom of the page.Moataway. It is probable that most of the 4g phones on the market currently can work on the 700mhz band. I have checked the specs for the Samsung Galaxy S5 and that phone can certainly work at 4g 700mhz & I suspect that is the case for most current 4g phones on the market.

Have ofcom allocated the frequencies yet for the Oxford Transmitter post 700 clearance?
If so can you update the Oxford details please?

Please note the local multiplex (LOX) transmits on Channel 22 (482MHZ) and not Channel 46 as listed.

A recent experience suggests to me that Freeview HD is more susceptible to high signal levels than the ordinary SD channels. I had a problem with the HD mux breaking up while the ordinary SD channels. Introducing some attenuation resolved the situation.

Chris.SE, thanks for the clarification. I can actually pick up the Channel 22 broadcast really well up in Banbury even though I'm well out the beams focus most of the time although under certain conditions it gets blotted out by Crystal Palace and / or Rowridge which have muxes on Channel 22

Matthew & Chris, Yes I am on Oxford I live in Banbury 20.33 miles away but have a clear line of site to the transmitter. About 8 months ago I fitted a new aerial in our loft feeding a Labgear distribution amp because our redundant chimney was being removed as it was leaking (badly). I went for a Tri-boom because it was a bit more compact & I wanted to go up in size to compensate for the losses through the roof tiles. It was good until about a month ago until Freeview HD on CH47 started breaking although all the other channels were fine. I was scratching my head and in desperation turned it towards the local Bretch Hill at which point Oxford started working normally again! That was when I twigged, inserted a 6db attentuator between the aerial & the distribution amp and it's been fine ever since but it was strange how only the HD mux was affected.

Harry Gorman - I presume you are on the local Kingsbridge transmitter, this transmitter only carries the public service multiplexes and therefore you will not receive ITV 3&4 which are carried on one of the commercial multiplexes. I would doubt you would be able to get a decent signal fron one of the main transmitters (Caradon Hill or Beacon Hill) in your location which leaves the only possibility being satellite (Freesat, Sky or Freesat from Sky)
