Edwina Waters: Hi Briantist. I sat up into the early hours last night and eventually managed to disable the Audio Description. I have no idea how it became enabled in the first place, except to say my husband has rather large feet and may have "pressed" something on the remote when putting his feet up on the sofa. I am going to ban him from having access to the remotes from now on! Many thanks for your assistance.

We live in the North East and our digital Changeover is due to take place on 2 dates in September. Instructions say to retune after each date, but we are planning to be on holiday around that time. Will we still be able to retune on our return without any undue consequences? Post code is NE70 and currently receive transmissions from Chatton. Thanks for reading. (one freesat receiver and several Freeview boxes).

Last night our freeview services went off the air. This morning Freesat is broadcasting OK. Where can I find out if there is transmitter maintenance being carried out? Thanks for reading.

Hi JB38,
Thanks for the information. I found the cause of the problem - I must have accidentally pressed a button on the TV remote and found that it was not actually connected to the freeview box. My fault and I feel a bit sheepish now, but thanks again anyway!

Hi. Most of the TVs in my house are connected to Freeview boxes and, for the most part, they perform quite well. The weather does seem to make a difference sometimes. I have a satellite dish left by the previous owners, who, I believe, subscribed to Sky. I purchased a Freesat Humax HD receiver, and my local engineer completed the installation. Until today, everything was working fine, but, suddenly we have a gentle female voice-over describing the scenes. I realise this is something to aid viewers with sight problems and we must have accidentally triggered something on the remote. I have mislaid my instruction manual and need to disable this facility. Can you advise please? It must be wonderful for people with sight difficulties, but for us, it is just too distracting.
