I've always been interested in receiving television transmissions. Over the years I've installed motorised VHF/UHF aerials and satellite dishes on various houses I've lived in. Much to the amusement of my neighbours.
So yes I bought into the very short lived BSB D-MAC platform, which I purchased a few months before its official launch in March 1990. Which I adapted to D2-MAC to extend its life.
And yes of-course I bought into this countries first Digital Video Broadcast platforms when they were launched by SkyDigital (DVB-S) in Oct 1998 and ONdigital (DVB-T) in Nov 1998.
Indeed, up until a few months ago I still had all my old set-top boxes including receipts in my loft... I can't believe how much I've spent over the years.
So yes DVB-T has been available in this country since November 1998...

Changing the subject...
Although the 'MHEG' logo appears within my LG TV's GUI, I am unable to select the red button services on BBC 1 HD and BBC 2 HD?

Thanks Mike,
When I checked BBC 3 HD/CBBC HD, there was no MHEG icon displayed (within my TV's GUI), which is more logical if the red button services don't exist on the HD channels.
I was in London over Christmas and didn't think to check if they were active via Crystal Palace.
I checked Freesat this morning and can confirm that the red button services are active on all the BBC HD channels except the kids ones.
I also checked Virgin Media HD yesterday and can confirm that the red button services are active on all the BBC HD channels including the kids ones. But of-course their platform integrates these services differently.

You're right...
I've just checked on my LG TV and the old 'teletext' style subtitles are still available via DVB-S, along with the standard DVB subtitle system.

I'm in the Sherwood Rise area of Nottingham and I'm now receiving 100% for both signal strength and quality on channel 26

No signal reception in Nottingham. Same with COM8 (Ch37).
The two 'local' signals via Ch26 are coming in loud and strong ;).

I'm not sure what your local London transmitter has to do with our Waltham, Leicestershire transmitter... but hello anyway...

Tues 10 Dec 2013 saw the official launch of BBC's new HD channels.
Sadly the above transmitter information suggests that Waltham is only kicking out 1,400 watts for C31 (554.0MHz), which is way too low for us people living in the Nottingham central area to receive a viable signal.
Does anybody know when Waltham's power is going to be increased?
