With a decent aerial Ivan, you should get something from either Colinward or Black Mountain.

There you go Alex, you've got an official reply to your query !
Haven't noticed anything at this location (BT37) recently although, I did have some breaking up/freezing over the Christmas period (weather conditions maybe ?).
I assume BT30 is in and around the Crumlin area ? We have friends in BT 29 and they've had no problems.
Roll on Nov. 2012 then, when all this will hopefully be sorted (along with the arrival of Saorview Lite !)

Know exactly where you are Ivan (I'm not too far away on the Jordanstown Road).
You should be getting an excellent signal now from the BBC multiplex. I would also have thought you'ld get something from Colinward Mountain, as I'm sure the last time I had the Pure Highway in the car the commercial multiplex was coming in fine all the way down the Dough Road (From the Monkstown Road junction).
I'll try it again over the next few days and let you know how I get on. Those little wire aerials are absolutely crap when it comes to DAB reception. The telescopic antennas are much better.

This is due to lift conditians Satfix i.e. the high pressure. I'm afraid you'll have to put up with it until the weather conditions change.
Hopefully, once DSO happens (Nov. 2012) this will be a thing of the past.
Receiving Caldbeck in this area of Newtownabbey off and on over the last few days.

Eric:
You'll still get BBC 1 HD, BBC HD, ITV1 HD (if you live in England and Wales) and Channel Four HD. These HD channels are all available on Freesat.

Paul:
Freesat is completely free. There is no additional charge to watch the HD channels.

P.S. A second hand Sky plus HD box will only receive BBC1 HD, BBC HD and ITV 1 HD. You'll also lose the PVR function i.e. you won't be able to record(unless you pay Sky £10 per month). The Freesat plus pvr is the better option, in my opinion.

Margaret: No.
According to Digital UK's postcode chaecker you should be getting excellent reception from Divis at the moment, and after DSO. You should also be able to receive the NI mux from Black Mountain on October 24th.
Check to see which transmitter your aerial is currently receiving. If it's vertically polarised (i.e. the elements are up and down) then it's Black Mountain. If it's horizontally polarised then it's Divis.
Another way to check is to see if you're getting a good picture from Channel 5 analogue.
Personally, I'd seek the advice of a reputable aerial installer to see exactly what you need.

Gus: A Humax HD Fox T2 should have no problems receiving Saorview (at least mine doesn't).
On the north coast Moville is the nearest Saorview transmitter.

"I have just purchased a hi fi system with DAB and I cannot receive the local stations like Radio Ulster etc and I can see the Carnmoney Hill Transmitter from my house,I can receive all the other BBC broadcasts, have you any idea what can be the problem please"
Ivan: I'm in Jordanstown and can also see the crnmoney hill transmitter from my bedroom window. I receive all the DAB stations that are available here.
Where abouts is your location ? I get excellent reception from Carnmoney Hill and a good signal from Colinward mountain (near Ballyclare)
If it's a small HiFi system you have, you may find the aerial is a little wire at the back. Not really a satifactory solution at all. Telescopic whips are much better.
Check to see if there's some sort of external aerial socket. Even one of the indoor ribbon type dipoles will be much better.
