I often get really poor reception on the plus 1 channels which is why I prefer to avoid using them. I just don't understand why it's all the none BBC channels I have having issues with today when it was the BBC ones which changed.

Mike: There are some repeats of BBC channels at 800 but there are no repeats of ITV channels. As for the manuals none of those match my Matsui TV (built in freeview) but I do still have the manual that came with it. I always try a manual retune of certain clusters if they are missing but right now it can not find any channels for cluster 24 (ITV, Channel 4 & 5) and I am currently trying an auto retune but it has got stuck on 8%.
So I think I will call it a night and will try again tomorrow. Thank you Mike and MikeB for your kind replies.

I've tried again several times this morning to retune in order to pick up the missing ITV, channel 4 & 5 channels but still to no avail. When I do a manual search for that cluster of channels (C24) it finds zero services. IF I am ever able to get them back I will think twice about retuning again if everything is fine!

Yes Colin it must be as I am on the Lancaster transmitter which is part of Winter Hill. It's annoying because I watch more programs on the missing channels-but at least I do have BBC. Hope whatever the issue is they correct it soon because there are some good programs coming up!
Charles: The first thing I do if I have a problem retuning is to retune my TV with the aerial unplugged to clear the old ones out then retune again with the aerial in. But this time that has failed to help, in fact had trouble even clearing them with that method which is most odd.

Colin: Though I have done countless retunes since Wednesday evening I decided upon reading your post to do yet another. I cleared all channels and then did a auto retune and I am pleased to say I have almost all the channels back including ITV and channel 4 but I am still missing channel 5. However I do have 5 plus 1 and the picture on that and the rest seem first rate. Now off to see friends for the weekend!

I wish I had left well enough alone and not re-tuned as now I have ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5. Though I do have the plus 1 channels the picture on them is breaking up and has poor sound quality. And to even get those channels I have to tap in the channel number directly as my remote keeps freezing when the freeview menu is opened. I've also had the freezing of the BBC channels the past couple of weeks though it seems to settle after being on said channel for five miniutes or so. Sometimes I long for the old pre digital days because never had the almost daily/weekly problems with the TV as I have these days.
