Below is a list of all the television and radio channels that you can watch in the UK using one of the free services: DAB (for radio), Freeview, Sky No Card - Sky without a viewing card (Freesat from Sky (or fSfS)) and Freesat.. From Wikipedia: RT is funded partly by the licence fee, the remainder of the funding is provided by commercial advertising, because RT is funded partly by the licence fee it shows considerably fewer advertisements than most other channels available in Ireland. The channel is also available online through RT Live and the international version of RT Player. Unlike many other national broadcasters, RT One was late to begin broadcasting in the mornings, and 24-hour transmission only began in the early 1990s. - en.wikipedia.org en.wikipedia.org link icon read more about RTÉ One on wikipedia (summary by Clipped).

Shane: You are predicted to receive a strong signal for the NI minimux from Black Mountain (your main channels come from Divis). Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? Retuning was a bad idea as you've now deleted the channels from the NI mux which were previously tuned correctly.

StevensOnln1: Thanks Steven for your support. Yes cables seem to be fine. I realize now that auto tuning was a bad idea because I have lost the frequency settings that were originally there.
It is only the Irish Channels I have problem with so the signal I get from Black mountain could be the problem.
If my aerial is pointed to Divis should I be able to get channels from black mountain also ?
Can I manual tune the rte channel frequency so then I can move my aerial until I get a good signal again ?

Shane: Divis is on a compass bearing of 81 degrees and Black Mountain is on a bearing of 84 degrees from your location, so there should be no need to adjust the direction of your aerial. The NI mux is on UHF channel 39 for manual tuning.

nicky26:

RTE1 along with RTE2 & TG4 which are on the NI Mux, all moved LCN in the Channel list when 24 channels where moved back in early November. Any retune may have allocated them in the wrong place (have a look in your 800s). They are now on 52,53,54 that's TG4, RTE1, & RTE2.
See Channel listings for Industry Professionals | Freeview for which channels are on which multiplex.

The NI mux is on UHF C48 which you can try manually tuning if an automatic tune hasn't picked up the signal.
Post back if you still have problems. Happy New Year.

I've recently lost my rate channels and can't get them back after retuning. Anyone any idea how to fix? I'm in BT118QL.

Thanks

Hi,

Just had a digital Freeview aerial installed in BT47 6GG. I believe the Signal for RTE and other southern Irish channels is coming from Holywell Hill. I am having problems trying to receive these channels. Can anyone advise how I can manually tune them in? Thanks

E McC: Holywell Hill is on channels 22 and 25. If you are using a Freeview box or TV then the channels from Holywell Hill will be put in the 800s (meaning on logical channel number 800 upwards).
