Good day,
Although I live in Ayrshire and catch the HD channels via freeview (besides all the rest), I do not have the Motors TV on channel 71.
I have reset my box and re-stored all channels to no avail.
The Motors TV channels does appear on channel 240 but requires an internet connection.
Any thoughts on why this is or am I missing something?

Hugo: Motors TV (71) is broadcast on the COM7 multiplex, and even although you may well be able to receive HD transmissions, whether or not this will include COM7 is totally dependent on where you happen to reside in Ayrshire, as although COM7 is transmitted from Darvel on Mux C31, should this be the station that covers your area?, its not from the South Ayrshire Girvan transmitter.
Knowledge of your location (post code or one from nearby e.g: Post Office etc) would be of assistance, as this would enable a check to be made on the station that covers your area.

Hugo ; Meant also to add. Other programmes also broadcast on COM7 are BBC4HD (106) - BBC News HD (107) - Community Channel HD (109) - C Beebies HD (124) plus another six.
Another point to note being, that even although the IPTV version of motors is seen on your EPG listing (240), this message is being transmitted on COM5.

Similar here. I just bought a Humax Freeview box to be able to record MotorsTV on Channel 71 but only appears on Channel 240 which required internet connection and not possible to record. How do I find out the definitive info on Motors from the Crystal Palace Transmitter / Guidford to know if I can receive this?
Thanks

Paul: The non internet version of Motors TV (71) can only be viewed in the Guildford area by viewers capable of receiving Crystal Palace's COM7 HD transmitter on Mux C33 as the transmitter line up at Guildford does not include COM7 nor COM8 multiplexes, therefore it all depends on where you reside within the Guildford area as to whether its receivable or not, as the coverage area of Crystal Palaces COM7 is seen to extend to parts of Guildford.
However, a more precise assessment of the situation is only possible with knowledge of your location, i.e: a post code or one from nearby such as a shop / post office.

Have been receiving Motors TV on channel 71 since it moved to Freeview. Tuned to the Divis transmitter in Belfast.
Since middle of week 26 July Ch 71 says no signal both using a digi-box and Talk-talk internet box.
Attempts to re-tune result in the channel disappearing from listing on TV.
No other channels appear to be affected. Any advice?

Lee Davison: If your TV/ box offers an option of manual tuning, try carrying out a manual scan on Divis's COM7 HD transmitter on C33, as the TX might have either been down or running on reduced power during your last attempt at retuning.

michele ciniero: If you are also unable to view EPG numbers 81 (Talking pictures) or 106 (BBC Four HD) but can 101, 103 ect, then the problem referred to is most likely caused by the boxes software not having been updated since it was manufactured, this update being released at a later date in order to overcome the problem of the box not being able to respond to more than one HD Mux, e.g: the main being 101/2/3/4 etc, 71 (COM7) being secondary to this.
Should the aforementioned (EPG number info) apply, go into the boxes set up menu / configuration / software update and check the software number, the latest version is V2.58, the old version being V2.39.
If, as suspected, V2.39 is seen then this could well pose a problem for your friend, as "over-air" software updates are not necessarily forthcoming from Vestel, (the manufacturer) and so the updating procedure has to be done via a download from a PC into a USB memory stick, the data then transferred into the box via its USB port.
By the way, Motors 240 is only viewable on boxes able to be connected into the internet.
