I live in East Anglia IP30 0QR and though physically closer to Sudbury my new digital aerial is tuned to Tacolneston (which my installer said was a much stronger signal). Everything has been fine (even getting 4 HD channels via my Humax box), and decided to retune after the 16/11/11 shutdown of analogue signal in this area.
Sadly many channels have disappeared, most significantly FILM4. Can I get these back via the Tacolneston transmitter, or do I have to retune to Sudbury and if so do I need to point the aerial elswhere?
Any guidance would be gratefully received

Robert,Bury St Edmunds. If yer aerial is directed towards Tacolneston and you mentioned many channels have disappeared including Film 4,then it is because Tacolneston is still broadcasting both low powered digital Mux's 2,A,B,C,D as well as analogue BBC1 East,ITV1 Anglia,Channel 4 and Channel 5 until the early hours of Wednesday morning 23 November 2011 when all the above will be all gradually switched off and the new 100kw (each) high powered D3+4,BBCB (HD),SDN,Arqa,ArqB mux's are gradually switched on as such.If you're currently receiving the new 100kw high powered BBCA multiplex from Tacolneston on fr 55,my advice wait until the early hours of Wed 23 Nov 2011 when the transition from analogue/low powered digital switch off to high powered digital only transmissions are eventually switched on takes place.

I can see the Sudbury mast too which is less than 2 miles away. I pay good money to watch Sky Sports 1 which is also on ArqB with Film4. I'm still missing loads of channels. Way hoping it was just the fog but that's cleared now. If Sky isn't back by the end of the week guess I'll have to cancel my BT contract. Why are these guys mucking around with a system that worked? If it aint broke don't fix it.

Film 4 doesn't get reception. Since the 16th when they upgraded the reception I went from something in the region of 67 TV channels down to 42. Boy I am so happy they tinkered again.

Since the so called imrovement on the Sudbury transmitter I can no longer get some stations and for me the most important are Film 4 and the music stations I get on 18 and 21. Why is this problem occurring on these stations when I get everything else fine with red button and subtitles working ok?

Hi,
I am situated at Colchester, Essex and have
had the same problems with not receiving Film4 and ITV4.
I have retuned several times but this does not help.
I have also noticed that where I had aprox.
107 channels before the retune, I now only have 75.
It is plain to see that not all the customers can be wrong when they retune.
It must be a fault with the transmission
centre.
I trust the suppliers of the signal will take note of the customer's comments and rectify the fault.
Many Thanks
Regards
Paul

Hi Dave,
Chris: Can you get the following: BBC1, ITV1, ITV3 and Pick TV?
For the ones you can get, what is the signal strength?
Sorry for not replying sooner, but if you can help I would appreciate it.
I get a great signal on all of those channels, and nearly all channels are watchable unless the wind blows trees, interfering with the signal, or I need to re-tune.
Cheers, Chris

Mark Fletcher. Thanks for testing that for me. I'll have to borrow a different set top box to test to see if it's the Humax. It is a 6 or 7 yr old box but other than this it's all OK.
Cheers
Russ

I seem to having the same problems as many others...no channel 15-film4 in spite of many retunes. I am rather badly dyslexic so trawling through all the so called help sites and forums is complicated, so I find it frustrating not to be abe to talk to a person! I have a humax set top box about 2 years old and live on the suffolk essex border between Ipswich and Colchster, so if it is the transmitter then Sudbury, get your act together! We have all been told that we must go digital but the system doesn't work properly...
