linda: You TV sounds like it has a Freeview Tuner. HD Ready just means the panel. Check the manual, but if it says you have a DVB-T turner, you've just got Freeview.
And yes, you will need to attach another box, with a Freeview HD tuner (or DVB-T2, it means the same thing), which will pick up those extra channels. If you've got an HD recorder, you've got one/or two already. If not, then you can buy a Manhattan HD box for 44. Its basically an HD digibox.
If your buying a new TV, check that it has an HD tuner. Now, the shop has to tell you in big letters that it only has a Freeview tuner, but they are currently still allowed to sell them, but any decent TV brand should have HD as standard.

I had CBS Drama initially, so why can't get it now. Have tried retuning with no success. My television is HD ready. I am not really impressed with the way they channel has gone about this as it seems it all about causing extra expense for the viewers.

Licic: CBS drama is now transmitted on a multiplex called COM7, this being an HD transmitter that's only receivable in areas where COM7 and COM8 are included in the multiplex line up, the most likely reason for your problem being that you do not reside in one of those areas, which of course is unknown, a post code or one from somewhere nearby, e.g: a shop/ Post Office required for checking.

Anthony Ingham: If as indications would suggest you receive Freeview from the Kilvey Hill transmitter? then unfortunately this programme channel will not be receivable in your area as CBS drama is now transmitted on the newer COM7 HD multiplex, this along with COM8 usually only available from stations covering larger areas of the population, neither COM7 nor COM8 included in Kilvey Hill's multiplex line up.

I live in the IP25 6QE area of Norfolk and I used to get CBS Drama on channel 74. However, that channel has gone and despite retuning several times I can't get channel 71, where CBS Drama has moved to. Although the Tacolneston map shows good coverage for my area, CBS Drama has vanished. I'd be grateful if someone could explain the mystery to me. Many thanks.

Lesley: CBS drama is now carried on the COM7 multiplex. In order to receive this multiplex intending viewers must be in range of a COM7 transmitter ( your location is predicted to have excellent reception possible from the Tacolneston transmitter) and also be in possession of a receiver that supports DVB-T2 (Freeview HD) transmissions. If you have a flat panel tv that is badged HD-ready but fitted with a " Freeview" tuner, or use a crt tv connected to a standard definition Freeview box you will be unable to view content from the COM7 mux until you obtain a suitable Freeview HD receiver.A straight forward Freeview HD set top box can be purchased for under 50 from Argos or various online suppliers.

Thank you, KMJ. The problems seems to be with my equipment - as far as I know the TV is fine, but the DVD linked to it may not be. I'll look into it. Once again, many thanks.
