I appreciate the response, I didn't expect any assistance to my comment. For I would require all things you listed inc satelite tuner.

I've checked the .co.uk coverage checker today with postcode/house number and it says no planned work or live issues at , coverage good, it says PSB channel change 12th march 2020, I think my has been very bad since around that date, I'm not sure what that is or if it has anything to do with my reception issue.

You're right about freeview, I was told to retune, then retune without any plugged in( I guess that erases everything), then retune again, then manual tune. Retuning on a weak signal overwrote BBC1 and some lesser with nothing, manual tuning meter stated signal strength and virtually none existant. I tried tuning TV with aerial its own tuner and digi box tuner seperately both with same results. Last piece of advice from them was to 'try an old box', but I'd already told them I tried and TV tuner incase the fault was on the digibox tuner. I managed to get BBC1 tuned back the next day, but with terrible reception as before. I was given a paycall number for freeview help by At800, but a search showed they also have a freephone number.

I've checked aerial position and leads, but not a rooftop close inspection. Somedays I can get clear for around a constant hour, last time my aerial had problems with a storm, it was clearly out of position and picture was bad 24/7 until fitter repaired it.

At800 have said I can be in a queue for an engineer, when government gives them the ok to enter homes due to the pandemic, so I probably will get the aerial fitter out instead to check the aerial itself.

My neighbours have virgin tv or sky etc, so I cannot get anyone to verify the same problem. I think barely anyone is now using freeview in this area.

Thank you for your time and advice, I did not know HDMI leads can damage or cause signal disruption to aerial leads.

I suspect that it is your connections or coax causing your issue especially if the checker is showing good . The only change last March was PSB1 & PSB3 swapping UHF , now 27 & 21, 21 & 27 previosuly. All the major channel changes occurred last November. If there had been any ongoing issues with the rather than just some periodic maintenance, there would be a lot more complaints being made.

Apart from COMs 7&8 moving to UHF 55&56 where you would ideally need a Group T /or aerial, the channels were previously Group K. There are some Group K aerials that would give satisfactory reception of UHF 55&56 as long as the predicted reception was Good.
The HDMI issue primarily seems to affect UHF 55 (COM7) but if the was strong enough I would imagine it could cause a bit of front end desensitisation - not experienced it myself and don't believe it's that common.
you can get an aerial installer soon.

Until I get properly checked, I'll have to make do with the Iplayers and netflix. I will post back if/when a solution found.

I somehow doubt that it was CBS Drama +1 you were watching as there is no +1 broadcast on (or anywhere else AFAIK). If you were watching on LCN71, CBS have moved it to LCN67.
There was a major retune event yesterday (22nd) various changed transmission and some closed. See 22 Jun 2020 - Important channel broadcast changes | Freeview
Sounds like you need to do a retune, did you not get any on-screen messages?

Hello,

I made 3 comments on this thread I think, the last 2 being 24th, 25th may 2020, about awful . I received good advice and information from Chris.SE. I said I would post back when problem solved...

The fitter said the massive trees in the land behind me could be directly interfering with reception. Aerial and cables were fine, but he changed something on coax lead with better , aerial position was changed from to , so the trees are not directly in the way of signal anymore. Aerial fitter said any further problems may require longer aerial pole.

Aaaah bliss, can watch normal TV now after a few months of I Player. all good even on the extra . Thanks for your again, Chris.SE.

Since the retune of on 23 August I have been unable to receive a signal. I wondered if the coverage or had changed with the new . The multiplexes 39/42/45 from the main Kendal are just visible with considerable breaking up, I am theoretically in their area, but the railway embankment and trees block the signals from that direction and I never had good from that .
Although the signal was never very strong, Kendal Fell worked perfectly until 23 August. Now there is I can detect to lock on to on 40/43/46 even if tuning manually. It does suggest there is a signal there but it can not resolve it. It is the same on 5 TV sets.
Using 10 el Yagi >> 20dB Preamp and 8 way distribution amplifier.

Sorry you didn't get a reply before. There was no retune at on the 23rd of August, the UHF have remained the same , , for PSBs 1, 2, 3 and there has been no advertised change.
If you were seeing a retune pop-up message it was either an error or because of the major retune for the main Kendal on the 19th August where it moved to UHF channels , , as you've discovered, but again with no advertised change in power.

As you haven't provided a full postcode I can't advise which transmitter would be predicted to likely give you the best and which way your should be pointing at your location, but I can say that for Kendal Fell the aerial rods should be horizontal, whereas for Kendal they should be vertical. This difference in polarisation may account for your signal break up when trying to tune to Kendal assuming both transmitters are in a similar direction.

If your signal from Kendal Fell was previously fine, the only other reason that I can currently think of that's resulted in your problems is that also changed on the 19th August to the same UHF channels and depending on direction you may be getting . i'm also taking account of the fact that you've said that the signal wasn't very strong yet you are only using a 10 element aerial, and a 20dB (albeit with splitter).
If you provide a full postcode we might be able to offer some further advice.

I had an external TYPHOON SUPER High Pro HD TV LTE Protected fitted to my house. The installer told me I would get a better from if he fitted it in the horizontal plane. Most are fine except QVC gets some at times. It looks to me judging by a neighbours as if its pointing to Ringwood.
