How come Channel ABC1 on Freeview closes at 6pm yet it advertises shows that are on at least till 9pm?

Some channels, such as ABC1, have only rented a limited timeslot on Freeview, but have longer broadcast hours on Sky and cable. They only play-out a single version of the channel, so you get the same programmes and promotions on all systems.
