Can I have an extra digibox to view free-to-air channels?
Yes. You will need two things:
There are several ways to achieve this. One is to purchase a Sky+ box (currently from ã89) as this comes with the Quad LNB; you can get a second box from Sky, or buy a new or second Digibox and get a Quad LNB from a local retailer or from Sky (Sky charges ã99 for the box and ã50 installation, and there are terms and conditions). See http://www.sky.com/ordersky/home.
(I understand that the "extra ã10 per month" for having a Sky+ box will be withdrawn in October).
Many people use a professional installer to install the new LNB because it can be very difficult to do properly without the correct tools. See here for your local installers and shops:
Aerial Services & Supplies
Satellite TV & Equipment
You will also face the same issues for reception of 3+4+5 until this gets resolved.
You can just buy a new Digibox from a local retailer (or second hand), and have a local aerial installer fit a Quad LNB to your existing dish and connect it to the new box in the new location.
You won't have to even tell Sky about this, and there will be no subscription.
