Just bought a new Tv the other week from Currys, and they really have the pushiest most annoying staff always trying to scare you into buying an extended warranty, and this time i counted up 8 times i had to say no to them. I prefer going to Argos to buy Tv's, because they just say do you want an extended warranty with that? No... That's fine goto collection point B. Takes all of 2 minutes instead of the 20 minutes of harassment in Currys.

Alan: I bought something from Curry's yesterday and found a simple "no" was sufficient when asked about an "extended warranty".

Jeff Eastmond. Done some research now.
Currys, Dixons, Dixons Digital, PC World, Electro World, Pixmania, Equanet and Advent Computers.
So it wasn't four chains but it's still more than one.
If someone gets a Advent Computer because they don't like Packard Bell (PC World) they are still buying from the same group.

Briantist: i dunno if you just live in a more polite area or you just a regular there and they know not to keep asking, but everyone i know in the Durham/N.E. Area say Currys can be way too pushy at trying to sell extended warranties, and the more you spend the harder they try.

Alan: They are on commission. Perhaps I have a "no means no" look on my face.

I would say, "if you ask again I shall leave the store" if they did that to me (and I would, and I do).
