Mark : On the assumption that your box is "not" a 9100, as this model would appear to be one of Humax's older satellite devices, however, are you sure that the model you do have is capable of receiving HD transmissions? as PSB3 is an HD multiplex, likewise any attempt to tune in same on non HD models will result in no signal being received.

Hi,
Can we find out what actual work is being done to a transmitter ?
It seems the entire network is undergoing 'updates' at the moment with service interruptions ??

Martin

We have been having signal problems at RG215UE for several weeks. This came on suddenly and we have made no changes to our loft aerial setup, so there is no technical reason our end. Picture and sound breaking up, and at times no signal at all. Seems worse at certain times of day eg evening.

Dear Sirs
For the last 2 weeks when watching BBC One HD, the sound is cutting off often and to get it back, by switching to another channel and back, the sound will come back. It can start again after another 20 minutes and again.
It is only happening on BBC One HD.
A friend living near Cold Ash has experienced the same problem as another friend leaving next door, he thought that it's TV was going wrong but it is not the case. It does not do it on BBC One SD and any other HD or SD channels.
Can you please check what could cause this problem and come back to me?
Thanks in advance
Regards
Alain

My post code is RG22 5QW.
I cannot receive channel 108HD on either my Humax 1800T freeview box or my Samsung TV model LT24D390S. In accordance with instructions from Humax I have manually tuned the freeview box but it cannot find any programmes on Channel 32 even though this appears on the list of channels transmitted from Hannington. Can you please advise.

David Williams: The Samsung monitor is simple - it hasn't got an HD tuner. The Humax has two, and Al Jazeera is on Com 7, so if your getting BBC4 HD, you should get it as well, especially since your just 10km from the transmitter. If you have no C32 at all, check that your tuned into that transmitter.

David Williams: a couple of things spring to mind that could affect your ability to receive C32 from Hannington. Firstly is interference affecting the required frequency, either from the rf modulator of a vcr or Sky box set on or arround C32, or radiation from a poorly screened HDMI cable? Secondly is the Hannington aerial connected directly to the receiver, or is it combined via a diplexer with a second aerial pointing to Crystal Palace? If the latter, a diplexer made for the UK would probably split the frequencies to be combined at C38. This would result in the group A leg of the diplexer letting through what little, if any, of the C32 signal that is seen by the aerial pointing to Crystal Palace, whilst rejecting any signal below C39 on the feed from the Hannington aerial.

Hello, since early March, myself and neighbours are now getting some from of interference on all 5 programs on the Multiplex where the BBC1 is, from Hannington ( Hannington is the only Transmitter we can see from this particular location )
The Multiplex of 5 channel where ITV is, there are no problems
The Multiplex where SKY News is has the same problems of interference, so it seem to be OK on some and not others. I changed the Aerial to one of the Same ( Wideband Fringe Reception Labgear ) as I thought the old aerial may of got rain ingress. The down lead was new 3 years ago and is a foam filled type.
This happens when the aerial is plugged directly into the back of the Samsung HD TV. I have tried other TVs and the results are the same. I even place a temporary aerial about 15 feet away and use another down lead but it made no difference. ( and yes the TV it has been retuned )
Since the complete change over to Digital I have received perfect Freeview with Strength indications of GOOD and on strength of 96% and Quality of 85%. Even now I get the same reading but get the intermittent sound and blocky picture... It is not a 4G problem as I have tried a filter. Clearly something has changed to a transmission somewhere and the only other nearest station is Guildford which is on a lower power and V polarised.
The only thing I can see is that DAB has come on full power from Hannington but it is a much different frequency and would not of thought it would offer co-channel..
Any guidance would be appreciated... Thanks
