John Cameron: By approx. 1345 today 11/01/15 the normally receivable signals were restored. The relevant transmitter chain being Campbeltown, Port Ellen and the transmitter in question, Bowmore. Breakup on the HD channels is severe however: perhaps this location is once more off-grid and on locally generated power which is, by the way, much appreciated , as are the efforts of Scottish Hydro to maintain the electricity supply throughout our island community and further afield. Storms never last.

John Cameron: As the transmitter is only located at approximately 0.75 of a mile up the Cruach Road from you, if you are a car user you would get bang up to date information as to the situation by taking a pop up to the transmitter and having a word with the engineers (should any vehicle be present) as I am sure that you would find them most approachable.

Good-day!! the Bowmore Transmitter, Isle of Islay, after a lengthy trouble-free spell is once more experiencing 24 hr.severe interference on certain channels resulting in loss of sound and pixcellating of vision. designated numbers are 045,100,102,103,104,105 and 123 involving mainly the HD delivery. Standard resolution of these is unaffected. The interference is as before, occurring as pulses of approx. One second. Thanks for this opportunity to report.
