Hi, reside In swindon and dont know which transmitter we are under although we get central not HTV, Having watched all the usual Freeview channels ok via a Freeview Box and also another tv with built in freeview, I decided to try a Phillips HDT8520 recorder, after tuning I now cannot recieve ITV1, C4 & C5, all were ok on the old equipment with an old analogue aerial with no signal problems at all, Any Ideas what the problem may be? Looking at some sites they suggest ch68 covers these group of channels and I need to manually tune to these, but there is no manual tuning facility. any advice appreciated

Have a normal TV working with a free view digibox using simple internal aerial. Worked fine then bought a new LCD TV with freeview built in and barely picks up the signal and only BBC if that.
Also if connect the old freeview box to the new LCD TV this is exactly the same.
Reconnect old TV and digi box and ok again
Please help

Mike B: I would have a look at the Freeview signals: too much of a good thing is bad for you | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice page, but first I would check your aerial cable (or fly lead) is in good order.

I am trying to get the current analogue frequency for TV channel 5 but that seems to be data that is not readily available! I keep entering searches but get responses quoting "Channel 21" or "Channel 68" without any indication as to the broadcaster using it.
Does Channel 5 = Channel 68? and if so, what is the frequency in megahertz?

Barry: Ofcom has published analogue and pre-switchover digital channels here:
Television Transmitter Frequencies
Assuming that you're aerial is on Hannington, then you need to tune to Ch35. Use the table here to convert UHF channel numbers to MHz.
