On what basis are channels Film 4 and Dave not available to viewers living in the KA23 post-code areas? We pay our taxes like everyone else..
(Home address KA23 9EH).

J Fergusson: The channels that aren't available in your area (from your transmitter) are the Commercial ones which operate purely on a commercial basis.
They transmit from 80 of the largest sites (largest by viewer population) and this gives them 90% reach. To transmit from nearly 1,100 small relays would add about 8.5% of the population to their potential viewerbase but it will roughly double the amount they spend on transmission. They were asked if they wished to increase their coverage and declined. For a more in-depth explanation, see here:

Freesat is probably your only way to get more channels.

I am getting a perfect picture from Crystal Palace (my postcode is WD25 9FH). Am I likely to get interference from 4G in July 2013 (believed opening date for transmissions)? I cannot fit a filter between antenna and amplifier due to physical construction of aerial. Presumably I will be provided with a new aerial? Thank you.

Peter: There is now a website at800.tv with information.

Peter: If you use Crystal Palace, you won't need a filter.

Following the latest frequency changes for freeview, Winter Hill transmitter, I have signal breakup, only on BBC chanels, when it rains heavily.
I am only 15 miles from the transmitter with an unobstructed line of sight.
I have had a new aerial fitted but the problem has not been resolved. When I use a small indoor amplified aerial the problem disappears.
Is the outdoor aerial too low a gain or perhaps not enough bandwidth?

George: Perhaps the signal strength is excessive.
See:

A terrain plot it here:
Terrain between ( m a.g.l.) and (antenna m a.g.l.) - Optimising UK DTT Freeview and Radio aerial location
Whilst it does suggest line-of-sight, it also suggests that objects on the ground may be within the first Fresnel zone (as depicted by the pick line) - look-up Fresnel zone for more information. Anything within that area could potentially affect reception.

Thanks Dave
If signal strength was excessive I would expect a problem in good weather not when there is probable attenuation of signal because of rain.
Why does my indoor aerial appear to be unaffected by the rain?

I live in CM2 area, Sudbury Transmitter and have a few channels pixilating and unwatchable, including Sky news which I do watch frequently. The other channels with problems are ones I don't watch.
By a bit of deduction and fiddling it appears that channel 60 transmitted from Sudbury is the one that all the offending channel are received via onto my TV.
All remainder channels are received fine and also if I watch TV via my Humax receiving box no pixilating is experienced on any channels.
I have retuned and checked all cabling and equipment.
Any thoughts please?
