A by-product of the DSO. Many Sky customers may have a few problems following DSO.
Sky set top boxes, for years, have provided a secondary RF Analogue outlet, for redistribution around the house. They have frequently defaulted an output at Ch38/9 or Ch68. The Analogue outlet also provided back fed remote control. Now that Ch60-69 are being cleared for G4 phone services and the channels around 38/39 for some other services, cant remember what? With digital transmissions popping up all over the bands many legacy Sky systems could be in trouble. Any Thoughts?
Cant imagine Sky caring too much, I doubt if Sky boxes will output a Digital Signal in its own Multiplex. Sky will hope to sell more Multi Room installations at £10 a month I guess.
My own not inexpensive solution was an HMDI distribution amp.

Wow, what an absolutely thorough explanation Mike Dimmick (Thank you!)
A lot of that is way over my head but i will read up some more.
As far as i can tell i am fine with the 100K BBCA mux (perfect picture and no drop outs or problems recording)
In theory i should be OK when the remaining muxes are boosted to 100k on Nov 23rd.
Any problems and it will be easy enough (and cheap enough) to buy a variable attenuator :).

I am astounded by your comment regarding the co-ax lead....read on....I have several so called "gold plated" so called "digital" co-ax fly leads (only cheapies but they worked, blue in colour) - had them for years with no problems at all until a few weeks ago when, after a re-tune the TV card in the PC flatly refused to find more than a handful of stations. My first thought was to swap the co-ax lead with the one from the TV (same type) but that also didn't work.....the other TV's in the house all worked OK with the "suspect" lead.......so assuming the TV card to be at fault I contacted Hauppauge who, despite my protestations that it was OK, immediately suspected the fly-lead (!!) so I made up a new one with double screened co-ax (that I had recently re-wired my whole installation with) and lo and behold ALL stations returned ! The old lead tests perfectly on DC with a meter (about 1 Ohm end to end and >999 MOhm insulation) so why doesn't it work with the PC card - and why, all of a sudden don't any of the others ?
This seems to reflect your comments re checking the fly lead (Jane Hore) so I can only assume that my problems are caused by lack of screening allowing interference to swamp the signal although to my knowledge nothing has changed !
Interested to hear your (or anyone else's comments as to why this might be and why only after the re-tune a couple of weeks ago).

interested to hear your (and anyone elses') comments as to why this should be and also why it has suddenly happened after the re-tune last week.
Needless to say I have now replaced all my fly leads with newly made up ones using the double screened co-ax....just to be safe !

I've just had to retune our tv for the third consecutive day because of "no signal" errors and breakup.
Are others having to do this?

Jon.Norwich.Hard to say without a full postcode.Inversion effect could be the cause,are you receiving far away or foreign transmissions as such while you specified your signals pixellates,breaking up and disappearing altogether into "No signal" mode,when you retune.

Thanks. The input form said it had me noted as NR118ND so I didn't supply it.
I suppose it could be that and while the aerial points to Tacolneston, I guess we could be affected by West Runton or Overstrand.
I've not noticed it like this before though. We can have a few days in a row where maybe one or two multiplexes are poor or unavailable but I don't remember a retune helping this in the past.
