graham: DSO does not start until Wednesday 9th November 2011.
I can't really say what your reception will be like without a full postcode.
Have you tried doing My Freeview box has no EPG, is blank on FIVE, ITV3, ITV4, ITV2+1, has no sound or the channel line up is wrong | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice ?

Hi Brian, thanks for the reply.
I have been experiencing disruption since August 27th (Pre DSO re-tune date)
I lost Mux D for a week, after that it came back then i lost Mux C for at least 10 days and it came back. Now i only have Muxes 1, 2 A & B.
I have done all the procedures explained on this website but nothing seems to help.
Last Saturday (1st Oct) for example from 8am - at least 5pm Mux 1 & Mux 2, A, B & D were all out all day. tuner reported no signal on any of the frequencies.
my postcode is NR3 1PF
If the City Centre transmitter was Full Freeview i would simply point the aerial at that (about 700m away but actually higher than me topography wise.
I obviously would prefer to get all the muxes & HD and all my neighbours are pointed out to Talconeston
Oh i cannot find the box but i am sure my aerial is a 52 element high gain wideband.
the cable run is standard coax but it is under 10 metres in length (single feed to 1 TV , no splitters or amplifiers/attenuators

graham,Norwich.To summarise your earlier posts.Firstly there is no such thing as a high gain group W wideband aerial,as their performance on the lower frequencies in particular the group A aerial frequencies are less than satisfactory (lower gain,etc).However a group W wideband aerial for Tacolneston will do as most of the frequencies here are higher up the band.If you stated your antenna must be loft mounted,then a DY14WB (group W) type aerial should give satisfactory results as long as you use satellite grade black (preferred) or brown cable with a brass co-ax plug.Your best bet though is wait until Tacolneston becomes all digital on Wednesday 23 November 2011,then you may find out if you possibly end up with too much signal.

I stand corrected...having installed the fibre network at Sudbury a few years back I was there whilst the mast was being built and the guys on site explained the whys & wherefores about why the new mast was shorter (more powerful, digital etc.) so I assumed it would be the same at Tacolneston....but having read the info here

I do not mind shelling out a few quid for an attenuator if needed (in the case of too much signal)
I would certainly prefer not to have to buy another Aerial (my current Coax is black, assumed to be Sat grade).

I had a new aerial installed 2 years ago. I looks like a big one, its on the chimney, and as it feeds a number of rooms in the house it has a powered booster attached. It appears to be pointing towards Tacolneston.
For some months now (?), reception has been poor-in all rooms and all tvs (which have been retuned).
Is this something to do with the switchover-or should I get the installer back?

I'm fairy sure that I will need to remove one or both of my boosters come switchover. they are in place because the signal is interupted by a large bank of trees.
I have a pre-booster which feed a 12-way booster unit. That in turn feeds all the TV sockets of which 6 are in use.
I can take out the pre-booster but I can't take the 12 way booster out without replacing 12-way connectivity somehow.
Is the right answer to wait and see what the effect is and if necessary get a straightforward 12-way splitter?
