Hi, Moved into the property 3 months ago and all tvs + signals were ok. Over the past 4 weeks there appears to have been a problem. Some, not all channels have a really week signal. Specifically ITV channels/commercial. BBC comes through without any problem. All systems have been checked and appear to work. As the aerial points to the Strathallen transmitter and we are only a mile away I wonder whether there could be problem at that end. The problem is not weather related.

Good morning,
I was up in Braco yesterday looking at a problem a friend of mine was having with his TV reception, they stay on the back road from Braco to Gleneagles, giving the postcode would be misleading as its in the FK Falkirk area.
They have a freeview TV and their outside roof mounted aerial was pointing towards Strathallan, the actual village, their picture was pixelating often. I checked out the nearest TV transmitter on the Wolfbane site and it told me that the nearest transmitter was Strathallan, when I checked the compass bearing for this it pointed in the direction of Sherrimuir 3.4 miles away, I then altered the direction of the aerial and re-tuned the TV, we managed to pick up 34 channels.
The question is, is the Strathallen transmitter the best one to tune in to and is it in Sherrifmuir?
Regards

James Fraser:
We ask for a full post code so that the system this website uses can determine which transmitter is best suited to the precise location indicated by the full post code, you may have noticed the small blue boxes underneath some posts that have given the full post code. They contain the technical information we need to judge whether there is a problem and advise on remedial actions.
That it is part of the Falkirk Royal Mail delivery area is irrelevant to us contributors - but the information about transmitters and reception most certainly are useful and is only available when a full post code is given.
