Digital signal from Peterchurch transmitter disappeared during thunderstorm last night. Was still not back this morning. Is this a transmitter problem. My sky connection is working fine

Patrick Podd: Reception during thunderstorms is not really a good idea, but no faults have been reported at the transmitter.

What is the reason for this continual Peterchurch transmitter engineering? Can I expect an answer? Makes nonsense of recording.

Hi - For many days now we have been receiving either very reduced, or more often no signals for long periods for all TV channels from our local Peterchurch transmitter. This web-site shows at the top of this page that there are no problems or work at the transmitter. The BBC TV Reception Investigation web-site state that there are ongoing works and this has been displayed for many days!!!! Will you kindly supply me with details of the actual work being carried out and the time-scale anticipated until its completion. Is it just general maintenance (unlikely), a major repair or a major upgrade to transmit additional Freeview channels (much needed)?

Thank you

E J Gooding

E J Gooding: As this website has no connection with any broadcaster or transmitter company, no one here has any further details of what works are taking place or how long until they are completed, although as Digital UK are showing that frequency changes are due to take place next week (31st October) it would be a reasonable guess that there is work taking place in preparation for the changes. It certainly won't be to add any additional multiplexes/channels, which is just unrealistic for a transmitter serving only 700 homes.

At location HR2 0SJ we have had no reception at all today 31/10/18 from mid morning and is still not transmitting now at 22:47. Your information states 'Off air: DSO related until 10:45' and currently that there are no problems.

E J Gooding: The Peterchurch transmitter changed frequencies yesterday, therefore you will need to retune.

I have been receiving reduced power/nil signals from Peterchurch transmitter for over a week, but no work to the transmitter is noted on this site. Tried retuning twice. More channels listed and all briefly available, but the extra channels soon permanently reverted to 'No Signal' status and the usual channels still at reduced or no signal.
