Many Thanks in anticipation...J Scott

John Scott: It depends entirely where you are located? and whether or not you are able to receive the new low powered (5Kw) L-GLW Multiplex transmitting on Ch51, the programme referred to being on guide number 23 along with the Chart show (67) and Pop (75).

If you are unable to view any of the latter two programmes mentioned?, then go into the tuning menu of whatever you are using and select "manual tune" followed by entering Ch51 into the box then waiting to see if any signal strength / quality levels are indicated before pressing search or scan, because if they aren't then nothing will be achieved by pressing same.

That said is based on you receiving Freeview from Blackhill?, and which is the only station presently transmitting the new L- GLW Mux.

currently have loss of signal every night around 7pm when a message comes on the screen saying 'loss of signal' The picture goes like a jigsaw with lines all through it. This happened in December then was all right for a few weeks until it started again on Friday 6th Feb. We retuned the freeview box to no avail and actually purchased a new box, however the problem is still happening.

carol barrie: See:

Single frequency interference

It sounds like interference from an electrical appliance in your property or one nearby. The fact that it happens at the same time suggests it could be a timed one. A battery-powered AM radio tuned away from a station may help track down the source of the noise.

The freeview signal strength appears to to somewhere between weak and legless today. Channels are breaking up to the point that they are becoming unwatchable.

So this gives rise to a couple of questions

1 What is the problem with the signal?

2 When will this relay station be upgraded to allow more channels. At this time we have around 25 channels while the full freeview service has up 70 available channels in other parts of the country.

I would appreciate comments on these questions

Regards

James

Unable to receive any signals from this transmitter, It would be helpful if some indication of progress was available and possible date and time normal service will resume.
