The symbol shows the location of the Mendip (Somerset, England) transmitter which serves 720,000 homes. The bright green areas shown where the signal from this transmitter is strong, dark green areas are poorer signals. Those parts shown in yellow may have interference on the same frequency from other masts.

Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Mendip (Somerset, England) mast?

hmm, disappointed with the loss of dave / c67 /com5 arqa in the sn16 malmesbury area, but I do now have film 4! Would be tempted to get a bigger aerial, but this will probably cause more issues in march. Cant they send more channels out on the high power MUX?

Craig:
Hmmm, flats. It is likely that there is a distribution amplifier, but also distribution may be channelised, ie. nothing set up for C48 or even filtered by band (C/D). Ch.48 is right on the bottom of C/D and any filtering could kill it.
Did you have any problems when Arq B moved upto C67 in January or problems at the main DSO events last year?
Are you getting Arq B OK now it's on C52?
What sort of signal strength are you getting on the other MUXes? - If they are all at the top of the scale attenuation may help - one trick you could try is pull the coax plug out of the back of the receiver and then hold it in position so that it's not fully home - the idea being the outer is connected but the inner isn't but it's that close you get some coupling with attenuation. If that works then an attenuator may do the trick.
Worth checking also with other people in the flats to see if they have similar or identical problems, because if none of what's been suggested works and others in your block have the same problem, you need to get onto the landlords for them to get it sorted.

Billy: all the Mendip muxes will be on 100Kw next year.

Tom: Afraid not, already got their quota. Have you got a Booster/amplifier? - although if you've got strong signals on the other MUXes, it may be worth checking for Coax or Aerial problems.

Hi Chris, all the others have excellent signal strength... I already have amplification, I'll go into the loft with a digibox and TV and check signal at the amp/aerial! I must admit the coax is probably overextended in some parts of the house...

Just checked a TV with the closest feed and ch67 is ok, I might have to re route some of the coaxial layouts from the amplifier around the house.
Thanks for your help

Tom: that's OK glad you've been able to find out what's going on. Always best to use high quality double screened (Satellite type) coax.

I've been struggling with my setup for a while and I have been able to work out that I have lost COM4,C48 (690.0MHz)and also COM6, C52 (722.0MHz). I have retuned several times but to no available. I used to recieve all channels but not now. My antenna is a loft antenna with a booster on it. It was fine til a few days ago, I didn't change anything, what did?

Chippenham, Wiltshire.

Up to Wednesday we had all SD channels on all but one TV which was handled by using BT Vision. Now no set or BT Vision box will receive C67. A full factory reset was done on all boxes/TVs prior to Wednesday's retune. Have I missed something?
