MikeP:

I'm well aware of the radiation pattern shown above.
Does the Digitaluk checker show any predicted reception of the Local Mux at your location Mike?
If so, perhaps (not surprisingly) it's not as accurate as one might hope!

Chris.SE:

It shows as poor reception, which is as expected. In fact it is unreliable to the extent that is is virtually unusable.

Our Tv reception from Mendip Transmitter has been excellently reconnected by James Kettle of the Freeview Home Support Team. He removed a combiner and an old aerial that was pointing to the Ridgehill transmitter and fitted two filters to our aerial that is pointing to the Mendip Transmitter to ensure the new G4/G5 mobile signal would not conflict with our reception. The Freeview advice line is 08081000288, Opening hours 9am-6pm Mon to Fri, 9am-5pm Sat and closed on Sunday. He advised the Manual settings for Mendip are now 30,32,33,34,36 and 48. (my Post code is GL10 3BJ)

Glad to hear that you've been sorted out ok and had some good help through the Freeview Advice line, we only tend to hear the bad reports about them!

Nice that you are getting some signal from the Local Mux on UHF30. I take it you don't have an HD set/tuner as you haven't mentioned the HD muxes BBCB(PSB3) HD on UHF35 although it's unlikely that you'll get the COMs 7&8 muxes from Mendip (you may possibly - no guarantee - get them from Ridge Hill if the aerial has a side-lobe in it reception pattern in he Ridge Hill direction - but that likely will be pure chance.).

David:

To the left of the page display is a menu option. In this scroll down to the DAB Transmitters option and click on that. Select the transmitter of interest and click on it. That should bring up a page with a map showing the area of reception.

MikeP: & All:

I've noticed that the DAB coverage doesn't seem to be displayed if Pro Mode is enabled on DAB maps, are you getting the same? Also I'm not getting a DAB coverage map for Mendip!

Chris.SE:

Sadly, the transmitter listing at All UK DAB radio transmitters | free and easy does not include the Mendip transmitter. Something Briantist needs to address.

All of the other transmitters I've tried, not all of them of course, do show the coverage maps in the non-pro mode, which is indicative of the coverage for most purposes.

Richard:

It might depend on which log periodic you have, but they all tend to have slightly less gain at the lower end of the band. You might just be too far away, check the predicted reception putting your postcode into Digital UK - Coverage checker

It's always worth checking that you don't have any extra loss in your system due to cable or connection deterioration, unplug your coax plugs, check all connections are clean and reconnect.
