Roy Rees: If your getting a loss of signal at the same time every night, that indicates a problem close to home - perhaps local interference from a thermostat, etc. These days a local/national broadcast should have any real break at all.
search for 'single source interference' on this site.

For the past two days, i.e. 8th June and 9th June, my TV picture on ITV3, Freeview 10, has been badly breaking up. Is there any reason for this please?

Vivien Barker: While Digital UK doesn't say there are engineering works at Huntshaw Cross, Radio & TV Information Service (which only covers the BBC) reports weak signal for a period yesterday afternoon, so they could be doing something.

There has been an unusual frequency of drop-outs and weaker signal quality froom Huntshaw Cross recently. This could be due to engineering works and/or co-channel inteference from other transmitters during periods of high atmospheric pressure.

michael: Ah, yes.
COM4 and COM5 are co-channel with multiplexes from Redruth and Mendip. COM6 is co-channel with a multiplex from Mendip.

Does anyone know when the maintenance work finishes on the transmitter? I live just outside Barnstaple in Devon, and I have been left with TV signal for over a week now!

I have been receiving Huntshaw Cross as normally.
There might have been occasional brief outages
or reduced power, but none which affected my
reception.

Could this possibly mean that transmitter power will be *substantially* increased in the near future ?
No DAB signal from HX gets through here yet !

Is there any way to block these infuriating "transmitter engineering" postings? They convey zero information and maxi annoyance. Overall the "improved" format of ukfreetv postings delivers far less useful information than the former format. Very sad as ukfreetv used to be one of the most useful of its genre.

michael : I'm not sure what you mean by "far less useful information than the former format" as they have 100% the same information in them. Can you please explain what you think is missing?
