alan horsley: I guess that you were watching Look North North East & Cumbria. It sounds like your receiver has decided that it knows best and retuned to the stronger signal from Bilsdale Moor.

See this page:
Digital Region Overlap | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice

The problem is that the Bilsdale is stronger than Emley in many parts of North Yorkshire, but it's Tyne Tees.

It looks like you will have to retune. The simplest and most generic guidance I can give is that you start off the auto tune scan with the aerial unplugged. When it gets to 30% plug in the aerial. This will have your aerial unplugged when it's scanning the frequencies used by Bilsdale and plugged in for Emley. (DN31NJ)

Just tried 39 and it says The Zone will be back at 6 pm. So got that, no idea if I had it before this morning, thanks for info.
It is realy a shame Freeview system does not tell what the new thing it found is.
If you had not told me I would never know Ch5 +1 had appeared at the next new program found time.

Hi,
I hope someone can help me!

I have a Philips 8520 Freeview HD box but I have been unable to get any HD channels sinse the switchover.
I am also unable to get other channels such as film4 and yesterday on this box, although I am able to get those channels on my old non HD box using the same ariel.

Can someone explain why that might be?

I also find that the BBC chanels on the newer HD box are not good signal, they judder quite alot (although this is an intermittent problem, not all the time).

The channels on the old non HD box are all in the 800's whereas the channels on the new HD box are mostly under 100. I don't know why that is either!

I have tried factory reset and tried turning unplugging other appliences, but no joy. have I just got an expensive pile of rubbish sitting under my TV or is there something I can do to get my HD and other channels working again?

I would appreciate it if someone could explain to me in simple terms as I am affraid I don't understand alot of the language on this site.

Thank you.
