Linda Farrell: Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV and BT box? Do not attempt to retune.

Calne
I have always received 45 channels on Freeview from the Calne transmitter. Two days ago I lost ITV, Channel 4, 5, Film4 plus others and after retuning, three times, can now only receive 32 channels. Why?
My postcode is SN11 0QS and the aerial is in the loft. I have not had problems previously.

David Leard: You most likely have a fault in your aerial system, so retuning was a bad idea as you've now deleted those channels which were already correctly tuned. Have you checked for any loose or damaged cables or connections behind your TV? What signal strength and quality readings do you get on the channels which are still working? Please provide a full postcode so that we can see where you are in relation to the transmitter and your predicted coverage etc.

David Leard:
Please check all your aerial cables and connections, as suggested by StevensOnln1. Also unplug all the coaxial aerial plugs and sockets and then refit, that will clear any possible corrosion./oxidation from the contacts that is a well known cause of such problems.
In Holly Close you are very close to the transmitter, you can see it just up the hill behind the school, so please ensure that the signal strengths are not too high, they should ideally be between 60% and 85%.

I can only tune Channel 24, I am unable to tune any other channels, on two TV's with different aerials.

Alan Rogers:
The transmitter isn't currently listed for Planned Engineering and there are no faults currently reported.
Have you checked that your aerial looks intact and is still pointing correctly?
If you provide a full postcode we may be able to offer further advice about your predicted reception.
