BBC Reception Advice - Case number CAS-1210657-7J93P6
Hi James
Thanks for replying to my enquiry
I have now had a chance to enquire of my neighbours who use the signal from the Boscastle aerial rather than via satellite.
They too have been experiencing problems with all BBC channels, like us the reception and sound is often so badly distorted that it cannot be viewed and at times the signal fails altogether.
This happens on all of the BBC channels but not on the Independent channels.
If the Independent channels can provide us with an adequate signal from the Boscastle transmitter why can't the BBC?
We have had adequate reception of BBC channels up until about a week before Christmas then it failed, over the three days of Christmas it improved with just the odd pixellation , but then Tuesday and yesterday it was markedly worse only holding steady for a few minutes before breaking up, and yesterday the BBC1 & BBC2 signal disappeared altogether.
I had arranged for a tv engineer to visit tomorrow to check out our aerial on the strength of what BBC was telling me that there wasn't a problem, but fortunately I have been able to cancel him, as clearly the problem lies with the BBC signal and not with our equipment.
I hope to hear from you soon that the problem has been found and rectified.
Regards
John
PS I see now that, despite assurances that the problem was with my equipment, work is now being carried out on the Boscastle transmitter.
I trust that this will now correct the problems we've had over the last week or so.
John
