I'm on Sutton Coldfield and for the past week reception on all channels has been terrible. I live in Belper and have had the problem in the past then it returned to normal. Is it a problem with the transmitter?

I've bought a TV with built in Freeview for the bedroom but cannot tune the Digital Freeview channels in as no signal is recognised. The picture on analogue TV is watchable, but DTV will not work. Will turning the external aerial solve this problem or do I need a new aerial. The direction of the aerial looks in line with others in the same street.

Mike: Of all the transmitters around you, only The Wrekin will provide a Freeview service at the moment. If you want that, then your rooftop aerial will need to point at that transmitter.
However, your existing aerial will probably need to be replaced with a wideband one.

Thanks for that, I'll try repositioning the aerial first, if no joy with that I'll get a new wideband one.
Mike.

done a signal check on belper relay today on a comunual aerial and was getting a signal of around 55 db's. no amp fitted at souece but a labgear distributter with a sat dish an quattro lnb fitted for the flats, aerial was an abc quad 8 fitted correctly. high signals but not locked onto digital? got a 10 element wideband contract aerial for signal testing an got same results? i can see transmitter on the hill even tho i was in a dip. i thought maybe to much signal but the 10 element should have locked on? any ideas?
