Live Seven Sisters using Abercrave transmitter not getting all commercial channels dave etc on my freeview box. Why does my mother in Swansea have more channels than me, I am geographically disadvantaged by provision or do I need a better aerial to obtain more channels?
Thank you

Jean: Looking at the location of Seven Sisters, I think it's doubtful that you will be able to receive the full service.
The UK now has a two-tier terrestrial television transmitter network. See here for an explanation:
Londonderry (Northern Ireland) digital TV transmitter | ukfree.tv - 10 years of independent, free digital TV advice
The difficulty you have is that you are in a valley and the signal is way above you.
Perhaps Freesat is your best bet for additional channels.
The only thing I can suggest so that your mother does not have more channels than you is, next time you are round her house, you untune the Commercial channels leaving her with only the Public Service ones (which are those you have)...

My TV's went off at about 0845 today, I have 3 TV's, 2 are on an outdoor aerial and 1 on an aerial in attic but none of them are working. I only have freeview tv, no satellite. There was no warning. I have found that my transmitter is Abercraf but all it states on site is 'possible service interruptions' but I think nearly 3 hours is a little more than an interruption! I just can't find any further information, can anyone help?

Michael: Thanks for your help, I don't suppose you know how I could find out what the problem is or for how long it will be going on for?

Susan Arm: Abercraf, along with seven other Welsh relay transmitters, are liable to suffer from interruptions to service at any time during this week due to engineering work being carried out, time factors involved being impossible to forecast in advance.
